Our initial project was about a door with a facial recognition system for unlocking and locking. However, we had to adapt to the current situation and altered it to a facial recognition system within industries, specifically private industries. The system will allow a secure level of access for various circumstances whilst tackling a number of security concerns.
Global Challenge 9: Innovation, Industry and Infrastructure
The main problem we are trying to tackle is poor infrastructure of security within an industry. For example, if a bank had a server room containing sensitive information of all of their clients, but they are only using a keypad lock as their form of security they are highly vulnerable to an unwanted attack. The use of a camera detects the intricate facial features to unlock the door and is very hard to break into.
Another problem we have tackled is the poor integrity of information within an industry. There have been cases where the accuracy of information is incorrect or modified without authorisation. This happens due to a lack of strong security. With the use of facial recognition, a company can narrow down the number of people who can have access to information, making it more likely to stay accurate and complete.
